The below databases were chosen because they either allow you to find additional information on victims of the Holocaust or important leaders/people. Descriptions and sample results are also given so that you have an idea of what kind of information you may get.
Yad Vashem: Central Database of Shoah Victims

Description: This database can be used to search for information about Holocaust Victims. Currently, they have collected & recorded half the 6 Million Jews that were murdered by Nazis. Each result comes up with a short biography and basic information, which is usually submitted by a family member. They also include links to additional information related to the person, such as the county or city they were located in.
Results can be find with a basic or advanced search. With the simple search you can search by family/maiden name, first name or country. The advanced search gives you even more options such as family member names, year of birth, and year of death. It also give parameters on how sure a searcher is on the details. For example, if one selected year of birth they can choose exact, +/- 2 yrs, or +/- 5 years.
Sample Search: Preforming an advance searched, I entered Ann as a first name and then 1942 (exact) as a year of birth. It came back with 129 results. The first person listed was Anna Heksch, who was only two years old when she died. It give where she was born, who her parents were, and where she died.
Biography Resource Center (via Inspire)

Description: This database contains biographical information on over 340,000 people. It is a great source to get quick facts and additional information major leaders and people from during the Holocaust. You can search the database by name or by browsing occupations.
Sample Search: I did a basic search for Adolf Hitler. Results are divided into Biographies, Brief Biographies, Magazines and News, and Websites. The number of results depend on what option you are looking at. For example, Biographies gave me 6 results where as Brief Biographies only gave me 2. The first result under Biography came from Contemporary Authors Online. It listed basic information, personal life, career, and awards. It also gave resources on additional resources that one could look into to gain more information. Below is a sample of information that was given.

Description: This is the online version of The Holocaust Chronicle. It contains all 800 pages and 1,800+ images that are in the print version. Covering the years 1933-1946, it tells the story of 6 million Jews (and others) that were systematically murdered by Hitler Nazis and associates. You can read information page by page or skip from chapter to chapter. You can also do a keyword or index search.
